Must Play Games

I review a lot of games, and not all of them are great. So I’m creating this list of games that I have reviewed that I think are the best of the best. I mean these are the ones that rival XBLA games. So, if you are just getting into Xbox Indies, these are the games you start with.

I will add to this list as time goes on with games that I feel deserve it. I also reserve the right to remove games for whatever reason.

Acupwnture A unique and highly addicting take on the puzzle-fighter formula. Wouldn’t be out of place on the PC or DS.

Aban Hawkins & 1000 Spikes Brutally hard, but brutally awesome retro platformer

Along Came A Spider Trippy platformer with a rocking soundtrack.

Alpha Squad An adrenaline-pumping multiplayer shooter which is a throwback to Total Carnage.

Arkedo Series Retail developer makes Indie games, awesomeness follows. All are recommended.

Baby Maker Extreme 2 Addicting, fun and surprisingly deep.

Bloody Checkers Makes checkers engaging for the first time in its existence.

CannonBot Go!! A heart-pumping puzzle game. Sounds like an oxymoron. It isn’t.

Cheneystar Jaw dropping Sinistar clone.

Cthulhu Saves the World This and Breath of Death VII(by the same guys) are better than many modern JRPGS.

Dark Reign Redux Retail game becomes an Indie game, awesomeness follows…

Decay Part 2 and Decay part 4 are the two standouts in an excellent adventure game series. These two rival retail adventure games in presentation and puzzles.

Dirchie Kart As close as one can get to Mario Kart without copyright infringement.

Groov Rez on a shoe-string budget.

Infinity Danger Excellent rip-off of Warning Forever which manages to improve on it.

Laser Logic Brain-busting logical goodness with a random puzzle generator.

Lexiv An addicting Sim City/Scrabble mash-up.

Miner Dig Deep Very simple and addicting mining game that will simply eat hours.

Mirror A Silver Dollar title makes this list? You’re not dreaming. Mirror is a unique and challenging puzzler.

Ninja360 All skill levels can enjoy this pretty platformer.

Ocean Drive Challenge – Its 1986 all over again with this excellent Outrun clone.

Partyboat Sim Sleazy Cruise-line. A full-fledged sim for a budget price. Best voice acting out of all Indie games hands down.

Radiangames Series Some of the best shooters in Indie games. Simply a stellar series.

Revolver 360 This game spins its way easily onto this list.

Sequence  A Rhythm game/RPG hybrid. Something truly unique in all of gaming.

Shoot 1up Bizarre but amazing shooter.

Soulcaster 2 Highly polished retro strategy game. Better than the first.

Storybook Tactics Deep and engrossing SRPG.

Streets of Fury Great novelty beat-em-up with loads of content.

Train Frontier Express Model train builder that lets you build a world, then travel in it.

Tempura of the Dead Silly plot, great game.

Total Miner What Fortresscraft wants to be, but isn’t.

Weapon of Choice If you don’t like this game, either you haven’t played it, or you don’t like fun!

Wizorb great retro Araknoid-style adventure.

Zombie Estate Best Indie zombie twin-stick shooter. Absolute blast in multiplayer.
